'Make the Advertising Market a Bigger Pie'


The Korean advertising industry holds a New YearOs gathering


Celebrities in the advertising industry get together for a new year's gathering.

Nam Sang-jo, chairman of the Korea Federation of Advertising Industries (KFAI), said in a New Year's greeting of those in the advertising industry at the Advertising Culture Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on Jan. 6, Let us join forces in making the advertising market a bigger pie in order to effectively cope with the effects of such changes as awarding licenses for new extensive channels and a news-only channel, a change of advertising sales and the onset of smart media. The participants exchanged views on the advertising industry going forward.
Among the 200 participants at the event were 2nd Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Sun-kyu; Jung Byung-chul, chairman of the Korea Advertisers Association and executive vice chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries; Kim Nak-hoe, chairman of the Korean Association of Advertising Agencies and president of Cheil Worldwide; Kim In-kyu, chairman of the Korea Broadcasters Association and president of the Korea Broadcasting System; SBS President Woo Won-gil; OBS President Kim Jong-oh; and CBS CEO Lee Jae-chun.
