Focus on Environmentally Friendly Projects

Korea Land and Housing Corp. gets DCM business registration with UNFCCC for projects at home and overseas

Korea Land and Housing Corp. (LH) has been going all out to develop environmentally friendly housing projects. The company has been working on boosting the value of land and cities across the country through environmentally friendly projects, showing its intention to fully implement green management.
The declaration of the direction of environmentally friendly measures by undertaking many such projects, securing the ISO 14001 environmental management certificate, and the publication of a sustainable possibility report, among others, the company has been working on green management and continuously making efforts for land and housing development projects under its environmentally friendly measures.
Subject to the declaration, the company will ensure all of its future projects will be based on green management, reducing CO2 in energy and greenhouse gases. The company has been continuously working on research to apply the environmentally friendly energy-saving development technologies to build a base for environmentally friendly development projects and green growth.
The housing and joint housing projects in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, schools, and public buildings and the symbol tower for the public relations hall have been fitted with solar power, solar power heated baths, earth heat and cooling systems and fuel batteries, among others, under the company¡¯s green environmental measures.
The company received the CDM and registered with the UNFCCC to secure the rights for 32,000 tons of CO2 emissions every seven years and is the first company in the world to secure CDM business registration for both at home and overseas projects, securing a strong position as a globally leading environmentally friendly development projects company.
LH has been undertaking various projects for residential safety and the effective use of land and has been implementing its social service programs for neighborhood, environment and culture.
Under the government¡¯s scheme for advancing public corporations, LH launched itself by merging KLC and KNHC in an effort to eliminate the duplication of functions, to boost the efficiency of management, and to contribute to national economic development.
* To construct and supply decent and affordable housing units to the vulnerable and to improve their residential environment, as well as to implement tailored residential welfare programs.
* To develop housing land, new towns, Multi-functional Administrative City and Innovation Cities, as well as to execute projects aimed at regenerating cities in a bid to create comfortable residential spaces and urban environment.
* To develop industrial and logistics complexes, Gaesong Industrial Complex, FEZs and overseas land to boost national competitiveness and to create employment.
* To perform land preservation and management, rental housing management and land and housing informatization.
LH has received an investment of 10.6 trillion won from the government and the Korea Development Bank to stabilize the people¡¯s residential welfare and help with national economic development. LH has 30 trillion won in legal capital and paid-in capital of 15.2 trillion won, allowing it to perform public projects in the interest of the people.
LH¡¯s organization consists of HQs (six divisions, one research institute, three units and 53 departments), 12 regional HQs, and 12 project divisions. Its 5,600 staff members specializing in land and housing are striving to systematically implement national land and housing policies
