G-STAR 2010 Aims at Being among Global Top 3 Game Fairs
Will take place at BEXCO on Nov. 18-21
G-STAR 2010 will be open for a four-day run on Nov. 18-21 at BEXCO in Busan under the title ¡°Game Show & Trade, All-Round.¡± G-STAR 2010, marking the sixth one, is the nation¡¯s largest game fair.
Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA), G-STAR 2010 aims at evolving into global top three games fairs, organizers said. G-STAR 2010 is expected to be the largest one in its history with the largest number of exhibitors and spectators, they said.
The event, to be held for the second time in the convention center of Busan following G-STAR 2009, will have exhibition space covering 26,508 sq. meters - Hall 1 through 3 in BEXCO.
Exhibitors will display their products, including PC/online-games, mobile games, video/console games, arcade games, board games, educational/serious games and software and hardware.
The fair will also coincide with the Korea Game Awards 2010, the Korea-China Game Culture Festival 2010, the Game & Game World Championship (GNGWC) 2010 and the International Content Creator¡¯s Conference (ICON) 2010.
About 70 companies participated in a session to explain G-STAR 2010, which was organized by KOCCA at the COEX in Seoul on July 16 and they showed a keen interest in the participation of the game fair. They include NCsoft, NHN, NEOWIZ Games, WEMADE Entertainment, and Sony Computer Entertainment Korea.
KOCCA offered a program for touring the exhibition venue of the game fair to game makers wanting to display their products at G-STAR 2010 on July 22-23.
Organizers, including BIPA, and related authorities, including the Busan City Metropolitan Government, are devoting themselves to making G-STAR 2010 a success. nw
