Modern Amenities at HillState Apartments
Hyundai E&C applies high-tech IT to its HillState apartments for preventing robbery, estimating energy bills and announcing weather conditions
Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co. has been stepping up its efforts to mix high-tech IT with construction technologies to build ubiquitous houses.
The 4th HillState Apartment Complex being built in the Dangha region in the west ward of Incheon is a very good example of what the construction company has been trying to show off in the area of ubiquitous homes by applying high-tech IT mixed with construction technologies.
The new construction know-how is designed to make homes safer from criminal activities in the form of the electronic IT convergence security system named ˇ°HillState CPTUDˇ± (crime prevention through ubiquitous design), which has clearly defined what the residential security system should be for homeowners and construction companies by taking advantage of high-tech IT.
The company further mixed it with its electronic systems around the buildings and homes such as the ubiquitous parking information system (UPIS), the ubiquitous keyless system (UKS) and ubiquitous security smart system (USSS), all of which are unique to the company.
As soon as residents return home and park their cars in the basement parking lots, CCTV monitoring clicks through the UPIS and lights up LED lights to make it easier for the residents to walk to the elevators in the underground parking lots. Residents can also open the doors of their apartments with the help of the UKS, which starts running automatically with the arrival of the residents at the doors of their apartments so that they only have to touch the doors with their hands to open them.
After entering their apartments, the residents can turn on the security system to prevent anyone trying to break into the apartments through milk delivery holes or just breaking down the doors.
The company also has been able to develop electronic mirrors named ˇ°transformˇ± with the help of the high-tech ubiquitous technologies that can replace mirrors at the entrances of the apartments. When the residents move to go outside through the doors, the electronic mirrors speak to them and tell them to take an umbrella with them if rain is forecast for the day, as well as telling them the temperature outside and their car numbers and the locations of their cars in the basement parking lots through the UPIS system.
The company also has the energy monitoring system called an energy ˇ°clockˇ± to record the energy used at HillState apartments by light fixtures, gas burners including heaters and stoves in addition to tap water, so that the residents can find out how much energy is being used daily and monthly. The energy clock also can calculate the monthly energy bill in real time to help the residents reduce their bills.
The system can also determine the bills for tap water and gas, in addition to electricity so that the residents can tell what they have to pay for all those items.
The company has developed the ubiquitous convergence security technology U-Home ESS (Emergency Safety System), the first one of its kind in the country. With the push of an emergency call button equipped with a house key, emergency text messages are to be sent to mobile phones of family members of a person in emergency situations.
Moreover, the system is able to send the location and video image of the person to his/her house, maintenance office and security company. The U-Home ESS was designed to make the existing home network system work as an emergency monitoring system in which a door phone of each household in apartment buildings serves as a surveillance camera. So far, stairs, elevator halls and hallways have been considered as blind spots where closed circuit cameras are not installed.
However, the development of the state-of-the art system enables real time surveillance of the areas, making a dramatic contribution to the prevention of crime against children and women. nw
