'International Partnership in Advancing the Use of Nuclear Energy¡¯
The 25th KAIF/KNS Annual Conference deals with the latest issues on nuclear power
Scores of international and Korean experts on nuclear power will assemble in Seoul from April 14-16 to discuss issues on nuclear power under the theme ¡°International Partnership in Advancing the Uses of Nuclear Energy.¡±
The 25th KAIF/KNS Annual Conference, to be held at the COEX Convention Center, is being organized by the Korea Atomic Industrial Forum, Inc. (KAIF) and the Korean Nuclear Society.
Kim Ssang-su, chairman-CEO of KEPCO and concurrently chairman of the conference, will deliver a speech during an opening session on April 15.
The Nuclear Industry Exhibition will open on April 14 at 6:30 p.m. at COEX Jangbogo Hall for a three day-run from through April 16 to coincide with the KAIF/ANS Annual Conference. A welcoming reception for the participants is scheduled for March 14 at 7 p.m. Exhibitors include Korea Power Engineering Co. (KOPEC); KAERI; Korea Plant Service & Engineering Co. (KPS); Korea Nuclear Fuel Co. (KNF); Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co.; and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. (KHNP).
Visitors will be given a good opportunity to get information on the latest technology and science in the world nuclear power industry as the exhibition will highlight mechanical, electrical, architectural, physical, chemical and instrumental works and other things related to nuclear power.
The panel discussion of the plenary session will be held on April 15 between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. under the theme ¡°International Partnership in Advancing the Uses of Nuclear Energy.¡±
Technical sessions (parallel) will be held on April 16 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The themes of the sessions are ¡°Operation and Maintenance of NPPs¡± (Session 1); ¡°Design, Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction of NPPs¡± (Session 2); ¡°Nuclear Safety and Regulation¡± (Session 3); ¡°Nuclear Fuel Technology and the Nuclear Fuel Cycle¡± (Session 4); ¡°Enhanced Future Application of Nuclear Science and Technology¡± (Session 5); and ¡°Radioactive Waste Management¡± (Session 6). nw
