Group celebrates 40th anniversary by announcing new vision

Dongwon Group celebrated its 40th anniversary on May 16 at its head office in Yangjae-dong in southern Seoul by declaring its new vision, "Enterprise Needed by Society for Creating New Value,"and the group's new corporate image, signifying the group's resolve to grow to be a global enterprise representing Korea.
The meeting, with some 200 executives and staff of the group's affiliates in attendance, also resolved that the group will endeavor to realize social justice in a detailed way.
"Creation of New Value" means a better life, better convenience, better safety, better health and more, creating more outstanding products and services than the existing ones and providing a better cultural life value to customers.
"Enterprise Needed by Society"means it will be a business group that is needed by society, by continuously creating jobs, paying required taxes, producing healthy profits and contributing to society.
"Vision 2020"is about boosting the group's annual sales to 20 trillion won with an ROE of 20 percent by strengthening the food distribution business and overseas operations by 2020.
Chairman Kim Jae-chul, in his congratulatory speech, said Dongwon Group will strengthen its activities not only at home but also abroad so that it will be a business needed by society and becomes a top-class conglomerate in the world.
The group's new CI represents its mission to create new value and grow to be an enterprise truly needed by customers. The new CI is light blue and signifies the group's professionalism and, at the same time, its youth and flexibility. By using lower case letters for the logo, it gives a sense of familiarity and sensitivity, creating a consumer-oriented image for the Dongwon Group.
The Chinese character "dong,"meaning east, is spread on earth in the symbol mark and is in harmony with the English letters, showing a symbolic fusion, meaning that Dongwon will grow large enough in the future to be a global enterprise representing Korea. nw
