Investment explanation session and conferences will coincide to boost investment mood and invigorate regional economies
The 2nd Korea Regional Investment Fair will be held at COEX in southern Seoul from July 1-3 with a focus on boosting the investment sentiment of investors from Korea and abroad and invigorating regional economies.
Three forces in regional investments ¡ª 16 local governments, economic organizations, and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) and other government agencies ¡ª are jointly organizing the fair in which a large number of foreign buyers are expected to attend.
Organizers expect this exhibition to provide Korean and foreign investors chances to take a look at a variety of investment environments around the nation as municipal and provincial exhibition and consultation pavilions will be set up together with their respective investment explanation sessions, Chun Yoon-jong, director of regional investment at the MKE, said.
Chun said organizers are putting more energy into taking stock of businessmen's interests in advance and are exploring prospective investors so that practical information and investment consultations can be obtained.
Sixteen municipal and provincial governments have made a list of investment candidates and the KOTRA Korea Business Centers outside of Korea are now contacting them to ask for their participation in the fair.
Exhibitors from municipal and provincial governments will set up their respective pavilions designed to attract investments that will feature policies on attracting investments and core investment projects and hold consultations on investment candidates'areas of focus.
Regional development policy pavilions will be set up to publicize regional development policies, low-carbon, green growth industries and the four-river restoration scheme.
Regional industry pavilions will showcase regional industrial complexes, investment support systems, assistance for techno-park tenant companies and supports for each region's specialized industries.
Sixteen municipal and provincial governments each will hold an investment explanation session on July 1 and KOTRA will organize an investment explanation session catering to foreign investors later on the same day. Theme-specific sessions ¡ª investments in technology infrastructure, regional specialized industries and the relocation of companies in the Seoul metropolitan area to regional districts will be held on July 2.
