Korea's 1st Cruise Liner
to be Inaugurated
on South Coast in April
PanStarline.com is remodeling the 15,000 ton-class PanStar Honey
Starting in April, PanStarline.com will inaugurate a cruise liner plying the waters between Busan and Jeju via Tongyeong and Yeosu on the South Coast, the first such cruise in Korea.
To this end, the cruise company is remodeling the 15,000 ton-class PanStar Honey imported from Japan this past December. The reconstruction process is now 30 percent complete, the company said.
The cruise liner, capable of accommodating 518 passengers, has such facilities as restaurants, indoor performance halls, a theater, culture experience rooms, children's playing facilities and diverse convenience facilities.
The ship, departing Busan port, will return there after traveling to Geoje Island for sunset sightseeing, Hallyeo Maritime Park, Yeosu (Odong Islet and fishery market), Dadohae Maritime Park, Geomun Island and Geoje Isalnd for sunrise sightseeing.
The company said it is considering another route departing Busan and returning to the port via Geoje Island, Hallyeo Maritime Park, Yeosu, Dadohae Maritime Park, Geomun Isalnd, Jeju Island (Seongsan sunrise) and Geoje Island.
Passengers will be given the opportunity to freely select their travel time -- one night and two days or three nights and four days -- as well as their embarking and disembarking spots.
They will be allowed to load their cars on the cruise liner and tour the various ports of call with their own vehicles. Fares will likely be set at around 130,000 won, on average, per person per night.
A company official said the cruise will provide passengers with chances to travel to memorable spots. nw
A PanStar Cruise ferry by PanStarline.com will soon begin operations on the South Coast by PanStarline.com.
