Artist Park Yong -in to
Host Art Show in Hotel Lobby
From Feb. 1 through to March 31, acclaimed artist Park Yong-in will showcase his artwork in the lobby of the Millennium Seoul Hilton.
A graduate of Hongik University, Park also studied in Paris, France at the Academie De La Grande Chaumiere. Park has been recognized for his talent and has won several awards. He is known for being able to turn abstracts into concrete art through his extraordinary use of color. His dazzling and highly saturated color scheme were presented on most of his artworks with his unique painting technique by using the color that was pre-mixed on the palette, instead of mixing and layering it on canvas. Also unlike other artists, he is not afraid to use dark and tone-downed color as a primary color and adds bright complementary color onto it for the contrast.
His works have been exhibited around the world and he is known for the rich variety of approaches to representational art, using simple composition by simplifying and flattening objects or using refined and polished color.
Approximately 60 pieces of Park's works will be on display in the lower lobby including "Fall scenery of Amsterdam"and "The Landscape of Zurich."There is no fee; guests may peruse his artwork for free at any time of the day.
Also, along with Park, promising young artist, sculptor Park Gun-won will showcase his artwork in the lobby at the same time. A graduate of Hongik University, also studied in Italy and Germany, had exhibited around the world with his hope and humanity showing through his artwork. He is known for using varieties of medium like light fixture, ceramic or bronze in search for hope and human touch to express the agony of humans as members of society.
In the past, the Millennium Seoul Hilton has hosted works of other artists including Korean celebrity Cho Young-nam and a collection of exclusive limited edition replicas by Vincent Van Gogh. nw
