CEO Shin calls for securing 100,000 users by 2011

Korea Trade Network (KTNET) is striving to realize the mid- and long-term vision of evolving into a "u-Trade hub,"KTNET President & CEO Shin Dong-sik said.
Looking back at 2007, Shin recalled, "We have toiled toward the realization of the mid- and long-term vision of being a super world-class u-Trade hub. We have built a foundation for a leap into a world-class u-Commerce hub with a goal of 100,000 members and a corporate value of 500 billion won by 2011."Shin said, "If we make endless efforts and conduct research with customer-oriented thinking and a firm belief of performing public tasks based on unrivalled technological prowess and know-how, we will realize the vision without fail." "As I mentioned in my anniversary speech earlier,"he said, "the year 2008 is a crucial time for our company to make a second advance."KTNET will do its utmost to establish itself as a national e-Commerce infrastructure business partner. To that end,
it will secure a firm position as the nation's first official e-Document depository and ensure the exploration of new future-growth businesses, including official certification, Internet telephone and global e-Commerce in a bid to upgrade domestic e-Commerce and cut down on spending by trade-related organizations.
He called for his executives and staff members to live up to their duties in order to contribute to realizing the goals of increasing the per capital income to $30,000 and surpassing the 1 trillion won sales mark.
First, Shin appealed to his staff to do their best in the successful implementation of the mid- and long-term vision of evolving into a super world-class u-Trade hub and achieving the 2008 sales target of 75 billion won.
Second, he urged KTNET to secure technologies and develop new e-Commerce services and make further efforts for the full-blown establishment of u-Trade hub.
Third, he said, KTNET will make efforts to help its customers, including 46,700-odd trade companies and logistics firms, perform trade activities without any inconveniences and to make KTNET a reliable company that grows with its customers by ensuring the protection of customer information and system stabilization.
Fourth, Shin said, KTNET will accelerate its efforts to expand its global presence in order to raise its standing as a global corporation.
KTNET is a leader in the e-Commerce frontier, playing an essential role in paperless trade, seamless integration and trade competition.
KTNET, established in 1991 through the sole investment of the Korea International Trade Association, has been credited with its devotion to realize paperless trade and plays a leading role in reducing auxiliary trade expenses through digitalization of an EDI-type system and online distribution of about 300 kinds of export/import documents.
KTNET has been upgrading its technologies and security systems for operating the national trade network so that trading companies can process trade-related operations ranging from the exploration of business partners to negotiations, settlement of payments, customs, tariff refunds and logistics.
