Named as 'Die & Mold Person of Year'
28 people receive diverse awards during the Die & Mold Day anniversary
Lee Chang-won, president and CEO of Korea Electric Terminal Co., has been picked up as the 'Die & Mold Person of the Year'in recognition of his contribution to the development of the domestic die & mold industry.
Korea Electric Terminal President Lee was among the 28 people who were presented with diverse awards for their contributions to promoting the industry on the occasion of the Die & Mold Day anniversary. About 800 people from government, industry and academic circles participated in event held at the 63-story Building in Yeouido, Seoul on Nov. 20.
In an opening speech, Kim Dong-sup, chairman of the Korea Die & Mold Industry Cooperative, said he gave words of comfort to those in the die and mold industry who have endured the greater difficulties, stemming from the appreciation of Korean won and a rise in raw material prices, during this year. He said, "I will do my utmost in relieving the difficulties facing the industry
by submitting recommendations to the government to improve business environment and maximize services for member companies as well as taking steps to cultivate manpower and facilitate the implementation of joint projects."The Presidential Citation went to Song Yong-sub, president of Samwon Precision Mould Manufacturing Co., while Lee Joong-jae, president of Miju Precision Co, and Park Chung-gil, president of Bumjin Industrial Co., were presented with the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Citation. The Small and Medium Business Administrator Citation went to Kang Shin-young, present of Yeo Yeon, Korea and Ha Young-bong, president of Daihan Precision Industrial Co.
Korea Electric Terminal CEO Lee, who has been with the die & mold industry for the past 35 years, says, "The die & mold industry serves as a barometer of the industrial development of each nation, indicating the dignity of its products.
"Established in 1971, Korea Electric Terminal has successfully developed connectors for automobiles and electric appliance devices. nw
