Jeju Seminars Take Up such
Topics as Changes,
Innovation, Creativity


Attracts as many as 2,000 businesspeople

As many as about 2,000 more-than-expected businesspeople are converging onto Jeju Island in the late July to participate in summer seminars organized by the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) and other economic organizations.
The upcoming forums will adopt such topics as changes, innovations and creativity in consideration of the rapidly changing business environment in an era of globalization. In particular, the seminars will take a look into how Korean society will change after the upcoming presidential election, attracting a keen attention from businesspeople.
FKI will host a seminar at Jeju Shilla Hotel from July 23 through July 26. About 800 businessmen and their family members have already booked their participation. The prominent speakers of the seminar will include FKI Chairman S.K. Cho, DPM-Minister of Finance and Economy Kwon O-kyu, Mahahiro Sakane, chairman of Komatsu Group, the world second largest construction equipment maker, as well as such guest speakers as Kim Jong-seok, chairman of the Korea Economic Research Institute, Yoon Seok-chul, Hangyang University emeritus professor, Kim In-ho, president of Korea Small Business Institute, Kuk Yang, professor of Seoul National University and 2006 science national academician and Choi Ui-joo, professor of Korea University.
The number of businessmen who have already notified their intention to participate in the Jeju Top Manager College that gets under from July 25 to July 28 under the sponsorship of KCCI has risen to 370, 40 more than last year's participants. KCCI's event will focus on such topics as innovations designed to cope with rapidly changing business environment, particularly on the way CEOs need to conduct to tide over difficulties. SK Telecom Vice Chairman Cho Jung-nam will speak about global management amid such global business upheavals as M&As.
Korea Management Association and Korea International Trade Association will hold a joint top manager seminar and a seminar for their family participants at Jeju Shilla Hotel and Hyatt Hotel from July 26 through July 29, respectively. The topic of the joint seminar is bout creative management. nw
