'Real desktop CLMFP'new CLX-2160N series
Hanover, Germany - 15 March 2007 - Samsung Electronics (CEO: Yun Jongyong) has launched the world's most compact and lightest color laser allin-one unit that is one-half the size of a conventional printer, thereby reinforcing its global leadership in the mini color laser all-in-one market. Following the launch of the world's smallest 4-in-1 color laser "CLX-3160FN"(46.6cm x 42.9cm x 48.6cm) in 2006, Samsung Electronics has now unveiled a new and even more compact 3-in-1 "CLX-2160N"series (41.3cm x 36.3cm x 33.3cm), thus bolstering its reputation as the world-leading maker of mini color laser units.
Along with the three functions of color printing, scanning, and copying, "CLX -2160N"is stylish and compact enough to be operated on a regular-size desk. With a unique circular toner capable of printing 2,000 black-and-white copies, or 1,000 color copies, the product's weight and size have been noticeably reduced, while toner replacement is easier than ever with a simple front-loading process. In addition, Samsung's patent low-noise design technology - NO-NOISTM (Non-Orbiting Noiseless Optic Imaging System) - has been utilized to assure quiet operation in any office environment.
Another impressive feature of "CLX -2160N"is its easy-to-use diverse functions that minimize the time needed for computer connection, printing, scanning, and copying. The product adopts "USB direct function"to enable scanning and printing without a PC, and storing scanned images in USB memory, while popular image formats, like TIFF, BMP, JPEG, PDF, can be read and printed with the USB. Of particular note, the "ID-copy button"allows one-touch automatic copying of both sides of an ID, for more convenient use at banks, travel agencies, correspondent agencies, and offices where IDs often need to be copied.
The "CLX-2160"series provides up to 2400dpi resolution for sharp color printing, along with printing 16 black-and-white copies per minute and 4 colors. Among the "CLX-2160"series, the "CLX-2160N"is an all-in-one unit with a networking function, capable of supporting Samsung's SyncThruTM network program, for optimal operation of a multi-user network environment.
Senior Vice President Jangjae Lee of Samsung's Strategic Marketing Teams noted: "Color laser allin-one markets are expanding rapidly all over the world. The demand for all-in-one units is especially high among SOHO and small business users."As for the company's strategy in the color laser market, he explained: "just as Samsung Electronics succeeded in pioneering the personal color laser printer market with the CLP-300 series, we will focus our core competency in expanding the personal color laser all-in-one market worldwide through the "CLX-2160N"series. Moreover, we intend to remain a step ahead in our development of innovative products that satisfy the various needs of consumers." nw
