BMW to debut multitude of its top car models including Hydrogen 7 in Seoul

BMW Group Korea will showcase 11 sedans, 3 mini cars and 4 motor cycles at the Seoul Motor Show under the theme of "Innovative Driving Ahead of Time,"the company said recently.
The German auto company will have its own booth at the show April 5-15 at KINTEX, near Seoul BMW Hydrogen 7 and new X5 3.0d to be unveiled for the first time in Asia. It will bring to the show new 328i convertible, new 335i and 530i powered by a new twin-turbo engine, M5, a high-capacity sports car and 760Li Individual custom-made sedan model.
The auto company will also display a new mini coupe S at the show for the first time in the world and coupe S convertible, along with motor cycles F800 S, K 1200 GT, R 1200 GS Adventure models. It will also introduce cars for children, miniature golf equipment from the BMW lifestyle collection.
President of BMW group Korea Kim Hyo-jun said, "Innovation Driving Ahead of Time"expresses the future car philosophy that BMW will pursue. The motor show will show new shapes of BMW's cars, he added.
BMW Vice President David Panton in charge of the group's marketing operations in Asia-Pacific, Africa and East Europe will visit Seoul Motor Show and also visit Yonsei University to attend a ceremony for presentation of BMW cars to the university.
BMW has designed its booth at the motor show with materials that symbolize future society such as glasses, steel, and others. As the computer shown in film, "Minority Report,"visitors to the booth can have access to information on new X5 car model with gestures in the cyber space. They will also be able to see the performance by B-Boy Expression Crew three times daily during the motor show. On April 7 children who visit the BMW booth will be given memo pads and color pencils as mementos.
Visitors will also view PS3 racing game on stage performed by mini cars under the concept of "Incredibly Mini."There will also be performances by DJ three times daily.
BMW Hydrogen 7 is the first hydrogen fuelled car developed by BMW powered by V12
engine with the maximum speed of 230 km per hour due to its 260 horse power engine enabling the car to reach 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds. It could change its fuel to gas to hydrogen with the push of a button. It can travel 700 km with one gasoline supply and hydrogen charge. It can travel 200 km with hydrogen and 500 km with gasoline. BMW has been working on the development of a hydrogen engine since 1978 and it intends to continue to work on the engine to improve the technology and upgrade the engine.
New X5 model to be introduced for the first time to the general public in Korea is a sports activity vehicle(SAV), an SUV with the concept of spots luxury car and the next generation model of the X5 introduced in 1999. The X5 model sold some 580,000 units by the end of last year and the new X5 3.0d is the first X5 diesel model. It is powered by a 235 horse power diesel engine with strait 6 cylinder and an automatic 6 steptronic gear. Its light body makes it dynamic and agile in reactions and driving. For the first time in its class of cars, it has a head-up display, active steering and K-navigation in Hangul with run flat tire as basics. It also has an upgraded four-wheel drive system, xDrive and DSC.
New Mini Coupe S is to be introduced to Korean car fans for the first time, powered by 1.6 liter turbo charge engine with 175 horse power. It comes with a muscular honeycomb radiator grill and a 17-inch wheel base and sports suspension as basics. nw
