Kangwon Land beckons visitors to its ski resort for relaxation during cold season

This is the season for skiing and Kangwon Land has just opened its High 1 Ski Course (www.high1.co.kr) located on the slopes of Mt. Baekwoon in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province with a total space of 4.96 million square meters to make the entertainment and gambling resort ever more popular. The ski course has a ski slope totaling 947,000 pyeong in space with 18 courses and 21 km long and some 660 meters high. The course has three gondolas, 5 high-speed lifts and 11 conveyor belts including 1 T bar.

In addition, it has a 403-room condos and open air spa to attract ski manias, families and lovers. For those who want to enjoy an open air view while dining, the resort recommends a revolving restaurant located on a hill some 360 meters high, commanding a panoramic view of the ski course.

A ski course was built so that topography and forests can be preserved.It also has forests of rare trees to be protected to make the scenery around the ski course more beautiful and refreshing.
Kangwon Land boasts that the ski course is the first town-type skiing ground linked directly to regional life zone; Best skiing environment of big height differences and northern aspect.
The ski course is good for all year-round tourism spot with wild flowers and mountain plants blossoming depending on each four seasons with tourist products available for each season.
For those who have season tickets to Kangwon Land will have the benefit of 50 percent reduction in train fare on High 1 Ski train, along with 50 percent discount for swimming pools, saunas, theme parks and 10 percent discount for meals served at restaurants in the ski course. They will also be offered 30 percent discount on fees on lifts, gondolas and ski rentals and the basic ski training, the resort said.
Kangwon Land is proud of its many family resort facilities with golf course topping all of them. The resort's High 1 golf course is situated at 1,100 meters above sea level, the highest in Korea.
Low air pressure enables the enjoyment of an exciting driver shot that shoots straight out, it has a pleasant environment that never goes up as high as 25 Celsius degrees. It is an 18 hall public golf course of par 72, course length of 6,519 meters(out 3,321 meters, in 3,198 meters) where an international competition can be held.
Most area of the golf course is made up of debris and the golf course does not damage forests or the environment but is an afforestation of the unused debris ground so it prevents leakage of heavy metals and acidic wastewater and also species of trees and wild flowers similar to the surrounding environment were planted to induce ecological stability. The golf course opened in July 2005.
Kangwon Land operates a theme park, Adventure Palace, where mysteries and fantasies of the universe are spread out before the visitors. Opened on April 18, 2003, it is a facility of 5 floors above ground, 2 underground floors and the total floor space of 9,917 square meters. Inside the theme park,
there are 9 types of virtual reality experience devices and large spherical theater inside a 25 meter square glass building, giving fun, dream and hope to teenage visitors.
Main facilities include Central Plaza. Star Gate, Time Space, Bumper, Frog Hopper, High Striker; Miracle World;-3 viewing sites; 4D Theater, Alien Adventure, Dome Theater, and 9 types of 26 spearhead technology rides; Submarine Adventure, Helicopter Jump, Speeding Truck Ride and etc. Other facilities include Casa Cinema, Kid's World, and Food Court. It also features performances of actors, outdoor laser show and free movie theater.
