Doosan Infracore to boost annual sales to 3 tln won in China's infrastructure-support market


Doosan Infracore Co. has made its operation in China its strategic point to carry out the firm's "Global Top 5 Vision"plan to achieve an annual sales goal of 3 trillion won in China by 2010.
The company is poised to leap into the Global Top Five by implementing its "10-10"plan, President Choi Seung-chul said during the ceremony for the launch of the Doosan Infracore China Investment Co. in Beijing Nov. 5.
Under the ambitious plan, the company will be able to achieve 10 trillion won in annual sales and 10 percent in profit by 2010. The CEO said the Doosan affiliate in China is expected to lead the Chinese infrastructure-support industry, as the Chinese market is to be the second-largest market for the firm after its domestic operation and it will also become a foothold for the firm to execute its globalization strategy.
The Chinese affiliate would take the initiative in Doosan's Chinese business operations, including a "strategic investment expansion"in the Chinese market,
as well as week and foster qualified individuals in that business arena.
Doosan Infracore has a solid lead in the Chinese excavator market in both sales and customer satisfaction. The company scored the highest among 23 excavator makers in China in a recent poll conducted by the Customer Satisfaction Index Management Committee under the auspices of the People's Daily Market News Center, the China Brand Association, and Business Council. AS such it is the most prestigious evaluation of customer satisfaction in the country. Doosan has ranked first in the excavator category since 2004, the first year the survey was made, the company said.
The committee spends five months each year measuring customer satisfaction with major product categories. Data are collected via online voting and telephone surveys, and a panel of over 40 journalists and industry experts then decide the final rankings. This year, Doosan Infracore excavators received a total score of 34,820 points for a strong lead over the second place finisher, Hitachi. The company's CEO Kim Dong-chul received a certificate and trademark reading, "No.1 Brand in the 2006 Chinese Excavator Market"at an awards ceremony in Beijing Aug. 27.
The company's success can be attributed to various efforts to instill the image of "Doosan equals the best service"in the minds of customers.
