Executives and staff renew their pledge during 33rd anniversary

Samsung Electro-Mechanics executives and staff members have renewed their pledge to strive for a goal of evolving into a global parts maker during an anniversary event.
About 800 Samsung Electro-Mechanics executives and staff members were on hand at a ceremony marking the 33rd anniversary of its founding at the company's in-house gymnasium in Suwon on October 31st.
In place of exchanging congratulatory flowers as they did previously, they delivered to the poor neighbors "Togo"rice, which was donated by a farming community with which Samsung Electro-Mechanics maintains sisterhood ties under the "one company one village"campaign.
During his congratulatory speech during the ceremony, Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO Kang Ho-moon applauded his executives and staff members for making their efforts to shift its business structure from an analog mode to a digital mode as well as achieving tangible results in launching new products.
Starting October, Samsung Electro-Mechanics had been holding diverse anniversary events designed to promote solidarity among its executives and staff members, including a half marathon and each business unit'athletic meeting. On the anniversary day, the company held the "Sungwoo Cultural Festival that showcased exhibitions of flower arrangement, photos, quilt and other products made by staff members"clubs as well as piano and magic performances.
The anniversary events included an award-presenting ceremony for the 2nd Inside Edge Thesis Grand Award in which 10 thesis award winners were given a total of 25 million won in cash rewards.
Since its inception in 1973, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has played leading role as a pioneer in the development of the domestic electronics parts industry for the past 33 years. The company has been striving to transform itself into a world-class company that ushers in an era of digital world with advanced technology and high-tech parts. In 2004, Samsung Electro-Mechanics declared the new vision under the slogan "Inside Edge that Shapes the Future."Last year, the company was reorganized into a digital technology-oriented business structure together with an effort to improve its constitution.
