Sponsor Activation Plans
for Asian Games Doha 2006

With only thirty days remaining, sports fans from across Asia will celebrate the long anticipated opening ceremony marking the start of the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006.
An essential contributor to the event is Samsung, one of the world's most powerful and fastest-growing technology companies.
As a Prestige Partner of the 15th Asian Games, Samsung's partnership includes exclusivity in the audio/visual, white goods and mobile phone categories.
Since 1986, Samsung has been a Sponsor of the Asian Games. This year that support continues, as Samsung unveils its sponsor activation plans, which contain a unique combination of activities.
As the exclusive multi-category Prestige Partner in the audio/ visual equipment, household appliances and mobile phone categories for the 15th Asian Games, Samsung will provide 8,189 products in total, consisting of 3,549 A/V (TV, Video Camera and DVD/VCR Combo), 2,772 mobile phones, 1,868 household appliances (Fridge, Washer and Microwave),
which will be used at the Games'venues throughout Doha. This will ensure the smooth running of the most anticipated Games in Asian sports history.

"As a Prestige Partner for the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006, Samsung is proud to contribute to promoting friendship and unity in the biggest sporting event in Asia."Samsung has the honor of selecting the Asian Games'Most Valuable Player (MVP) by awarding the most deserving athlete with the Samsung MVP Award. The MVP award ceremony will form part of the closing ceremony, and will be presented to one MVP and four finalists who will be selected by a high profile committee and an accredited media poll.
Samsung is also gearing up for a number of other interactive sponsor activities during the Asian Games, as it hosts a digital gallery at the Aspire Indoor Hall and a Samsung Lounge at the Main Media Centre.
The Samsung Digital Gallery, measuring 185 square meters will comprise a unique display of some of the most technologically sophisticated products in the world. The gallery will be divided into zones dedicated to various categories within Samsung's expertise, such as digital media, lifestyle and mobile, among others. The products include 40"and 46"LCD TV models that support full HD resolution (1920x1080p) - double the previous best HD performance (1366x768, 1080i), the world-first four-cooling refrigerator "Quarto"and a diverse line-up of six ultra edition phones leading in the global mobile handset market of 2006.
The Samsung Digital Gallery will also feature various other promotional activities, allowing visitors the opportunity to sample some of Samsung's innovative creations.
The Samsung Lounge will act as a media centre and the base of information sharing and interview coordination. The 100 square meters Lounge will consist of a catering area, product showcase, free internet station and free dial access from Samsung's latest mobile phones. The Samsung Lounge users will also have the opportunity to relax, as they watch games on the LCD screens available, or listen to soft music playing in the background.
Samsung's sponsor activation plans do not stop here. Samsung has launched an extensive outdoor advertising campaign with new kinds of media in Doha which includes a wrap advertisement on the Qatar National Olympic Committee's building and a widespread print advertising plan covering all major publications in markets ranging from Iran through to Pakistan. nw
