KOMIPO pushes exports of mist eliminator to China

The Korea Midland Power Co. is full of hope these days that the desulfurization facility mist eliminator that the company developed jointly with a small and medium cooperative company has drawn the interest of a Chinese company recently.
President Zhu Ruiyang of the Jinkiang Thermal Power Plant Co. in China, a professional firm engaged in the production of desulfurizing installations, attended the briefing session for the mist eliminator at the Seocheon Thermal Power Plant, an affiliate of KOMIPO, recently. The Chinese officials expressed a substantial interest in the equipment at the session, KOMIPO officials said.
The equipment was developed following 16 months of joint development effort with Kilgwang Green Tech Co. at the cost of 180 million won provided by KOMIPO and has the ability to eliminate 99 percent of mist at the desulfurization installations.
Lee Jae-koo, head of the Seocheon power plant, who guided the Chinese visitors around the plant showing the mist eliminator and the Korean-type desulfurizing installations at the plant, was able to draw out a great interest in the equipment from the visitors.
The new equipment will be introduced to China with the support fund provided by KOMIPO through the Korea Technology Transfer Center.
