Painter Park Young-dong captures energy of growth in the mellow season

Painter Park Young-dong loves to paint spring scenery, with the focus on what makes up the work, rather than its frames. With colors denoting Oriental and Korean style original colors, he paints whatever his imaginations lead him to paint such as beautiful hills, rivers, cozy small villages in between them with sensitive earth walls surrounding gardens-- some what Utopia like scenery. He likes spring because everything becomes lively with energy, and cherry blossoms in particular. He likes to use light green, pink and yellow colors to paint spring sceneries.
The fine artist focuses on balance, order and discipline in his work and tries to make them diversified and creative.The painter attempts to express the beauty embossing made by women that appeal to Orientals, in particular Korean sensitivity. He stresses elements in paintings, rather than structures.

Painter Park said that his work, too, are made with imagination attained through direct observation of matters since those imaginations can move people.
In 1962, Park graduated from Sorabol Art College. He currently is an advisor to the Korea International Exchange Association, and also an advisor to the Incheon Water Color Association. He was chairman of the Incheon City branch of the Korea Fine Art Association. For three years, he was chairman of the steering committee of the Incheon City Fine Art Exhibition.
He has participated in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad starting with the solo exhibition of his art pieces in Incheon, Seoul, and Bucheon. He held altogether 17 solo exhibitions until recently. The Incheon Fine Art Exhibition from 1984 to 2005. He also participated in the Korea-Japan Creative Art Exhibition held in Korea and Japan. He also participated in the Korea-U.S. Centennial Diplomatic Exchange Art Exhibition at the Incheon Public Information Hall. His art pieces were on display at the Lee Hyung Art 100 Invitational Exhibition. He displayed his art works at the Hawaii Immigration Centennial Art Exhibition held in Honolulu. His art work was shown at Oasis International in Korea held at Coex Grand Ballroom in Seoul. He lives in Incheon and can be reached at 032-441-3596 or 016-422-3596.
