Releases the latest innovative LCD monitor, the "Emotional"series at CeBIT

LG Electronics plans to supply terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) phones designed to watch TV via the 3G WCDMA network to a German company in May or June.
At the CeBIT in Hanover, Germany, on March 9, the Korean electronics maker unveiled the WCDMA T-DMB phone (Model: LG-V9000). LG-V9000, to be supplied to a German company, will be available for a pilot T-DMB service slated for June in Germany and for commercial T-DMB service, to be introduced during the World Cup period in June.
LG-V9000 is a combination of both the Korean-made T-DMB technology and the European mobile technology, which control more than 70 percent share of the global mobile telephone market.
LG Electronics said LG-V9000 is the identical design of the T-DMB phone put on the Korean market and the upcoming T-DMB phone has a slide style, 2.2-inch LCD screen.
At the LG Electronics booth set up a large-sized installation at the CeBIT, resembling LG-V9000, with a LCD monitor through which the Korean electronics maker presented its corporate public relations and product publicity materials.
Park Mun-hwa, president of LG Electronics MC Business Division, predicted that markets for mobile phones, the essence of convergence between broadcasting and communications, will blossom in several parts of the globe during 2006.
He noted LG Electronics will lead the global mobile market by releasing diverse mobile TV phones timely.
Kim Jong-eun, president of LG Electronics Europe, told a meeting with the press on March 9 at the CeBIT that LG Electronics will rake in $6.5 billion in sales in Europe in where the company has established the No. 1 position in 3G cellular phone and PDP TV sectors.
Explaining his strategies on the European market, Kim said, "Sales in the European market are projected to grow more than 16 percent over last year to $6.5 billion during this year."He noted that LG Electronics has so far registered higher growth rates in Europe and the company will strengthen its position through such differentiating new lines as DVB-H phone, "Time Machine"PDP TV and steam washing machines, the areas which the company had built up until last year.
