Conglomerate shows off its
Firex products in Heimtextile Frankfurt 2006

Hyosung, a leader in the world's synthetic fiber industry, has participated in the 2006 Heimtextile Frankfurt held on January 11-14. The international exhibition, the largest of its kind in the world, attracted 3,000 businesses from 70 countries around the world with visitors totaling in excess of 90,000.
At the event, Hyosung has introduced functional products, made of Firex (flame-retardant fiber), such as curtains, including roll screens, blackouts, bedding, wallpaper, interior materials used in kitchens, bathrooms, ships, airplanes and trains. Firex is welcomed, particularly in Europe, as an environmentally-friendly material free from toxic gas, such as dioxin, when burned. Hyosung is attempting to advance into the contract market in Europe, the America and Japan for materials used in ships, airplanes, and trains, in addition to the existing home textile market.
Other functional products Hyosung has introduced at the Frankfurt event include M2 (an ultra thin, environmental-friendly fiber), single top (a curtain material characterized by its high durability and luster), and Aerosilver (an antimicorbal yarn that absorbs and dries sweat quickly.)
Hyosung has successfully operated the customer relationship management system (CRMS), inviting loyal customer firms to attend prestigious exhibitions, both at home and abroad. The Frankfurt event is no exception. Hyosung allows four customer firms display their products at its booth, the largest one among Korean businesses, providing them with seasonal trend information and one-on-one consulting on product preparation.
A leading business group in Korea boasting international competitiveness in textile, heavy industries, chemistry and information/telecom, Hyosung has a total of 26 local corporations in the U.S., and China and 17 branches around the world, including Milan, and Baecelona. It ranks as the world's No.1 in polyester tire cord and the No.2 in the production of spandex.
Hyosung also participated in the 2005 TexWorld Paris held at CNIT for four days starting on September 19, jointly with ten client firms. The company said that its participation in the event is of the largest in scale.
The 200 M2-size Hyosung Pavilion at the Paris event site was shared with its client firms including Sanghyun Textile, Texmill, Saechang Commercial, Kora International, SNT, Salsung Textiles, Duckwoo, Samhwa Trading, Tawkwang Textile (all being Korean firms.), plus Pacific Textiles, (a non-Korean customer firm). These ten downstream businesses were welcomed into the world markets with their functional textiles made from Hyosung's yarns. Hyosung plans to solidify a greater presence in the European market jointly with its clients.
At the Paris event, Hyosung introduced its representative functional yarns, such as Aerosilver, Xanadu-55 Magic Silver, as well as Creora (a high-quality spandex brand) and Mipan (performance nylon yarn brand). New products displayed in Paris included under the brand name of Creora H-100X (high alkali-resistance), C-400/H-450 (low-temperature setting and excellent post-processing shape stability), and H-350 (low deformation rate and dyeing at a high temperature).
Other new materials introduced included Aerosilver (a sweat-absorbing, quick-drying, and anti-bacterial fiber), Xanadu-65 (a polyester fiber boasting natural and soft texture and flexibility), 15-20 thin-denier-class yarn suited for ultra-tight apparels, and Firex flame resistant polyester).
A Hyosung official said "The event in Paris was one of the world's largest textile exhibitions. Big-name textile businesses share useful business information with one another and many buyers from all over the world make purchasing decisions there. This was the third year that Hyosung participated in the event to help its major client firms establish base to make entry into the world market."Since its establishment in 1957, Hyosung Corp. has become one of Korea's leading industrial conglomerates and has contributed greatly to the rapid success of the Korean economy. Hyosung's success is mainly attributed to its leading edge production and technology as well as an unwavering commitment to quality. Hyosung has over 30 overseas subsidiaries and satellite offices and they have been instrumental in expanding its presence in diverse areas such as apparel, and industrial synthetic fibers, specialty chemicals, industrial machinery, construction & development, information technology, and international trade.
