KOGAS President urges staff to improve its productive edge


Korea Gas Corporation President Lee Soo-ho called for his executives and staff members to raise competitiveness in order to survive in an age of globalization.
As the first professional manager-turned KOGAS CEO, Lee said in his New Year's message, "Globalization is inevitable and it" no exception with KOGAS. Globalization is not only a key strategy for our nation but for our company as well. Competition has become fiercer and fiercer over the years, which is why we must increase our competitiveness in order to survive. Gaining a more competitive edge is vital to our success."KOGAS CEO Lee said, "Competitiveness is achieved through productivity, productivity is achieved through efficiency of management, and efficiency of management is achieved through a highly skilled workforce. Let us waste no time and consolidate our skills to improve our competitiveness." "Over the years, we have all heard of the plans for privatization and the restructuring of the industry with the introduction of competitors in the nation's import market. We have stood firmly against the issue and I believe the outcome was achieved in our favor. Being a pioneer and established player in the energy industry, I am confident that we are in a strategic position to tap on the opportunities arising from the market trends in the industry."He said, "Through consistent work, we can achieve strong competitiveness. I know we can do it. We have a clear advantage. We have the know-how having 20 years of experience in the industry and have a highly skilled workforce as well as a reputable name, KOGAS." Lee, former vice chairman of LG International, was elected as the 10th KOGAS president through the extraordinary general meeting of stockholders. He was chosen among the final five candidates who were hand-picked by the Presidential Recommendation Committee.
