"The government has left its options open over the introduction of competition in the power maintenance industry, but competition is becoming a matter of timing. He also urged his executives and staff members to enhance an international competitive edge and establish a creative corporate culture.
Reflecting on the past year, CEO Ham said, "The year 2005 was a fruitful year when our innovation activities reaped good results in such diverse areas as customer satisfaction, knowledge management, social contribution and quality control to enhance our company's profile and our company has secured enough time to brace for competition on top of government support.
The achievements KPS has made so far indicate its strength and standing in the maintenance sector, a key area of the power industry, Ham said.
The KPS president has expounded priority tasks during 2006 - customer-oriented management, boosting international competitiveness, innovation, and creation of a flexible, creative corporate culture.
He cited a stable labor-management relationship and an improvement of employees'welfare as preconditions for implementing the priority tasks without a hitch.
