Samsung Chairman Lee calls on employees
not to relax to keep the group focused on the world's summit


Chairman Lee Kun-hee of Samsung Group, in his new year's speech, called on the group's employees not to relax to keep the group on the summit of the world and they have tough road ahead because Samsung as a leading business group in the world has to explore new roads for travel.
The Samsung chairman said the economy has secured a base for recovery amid high oil prices and unstable foreign exchange rates and Samsung, too, achieved many good results under difficult conditions both at home and abroad.
"We have been chasing after global leaders until recently, but the situation has turned around. Samsung is a leader and now being chased by rival firms,"he claimed.
The chairman said we have a long way ahead as yet, but our rivals in the world have joined forces to keep us in line and their movement is likely to grow tougher. "From now on, we have to stop the easy way of chasing others and explore new roads standing at the forefront traveling rough roads."If we relax in taking comfort in the past glory and select the easy road, the summit position would go to others, stressing that an environment in which no one fears failure should be created by turning out a greater pool of creative talents to raise competitiveness toward an area where the value of technology is high and more high-tech.
In the New Year, Samsung plans to build the second Samsung units in many places in the world to increase the production of top brand world products to make Samsung a truly global business group. He said decision-making and technology development will be faster and the competitive power for designing, brand, and image should be enhanced.
Saying that an enterprise grows with the love of its customers and social trust, he said, the morality problems that Samsung suffered throughout the whole of last year should be overcome through shared management. He said more concern should be focused on social pain and shaded places and shares our management result including knowledge and technology under "live and let-live"management policy, social support and boosters would follow us naturally, becoming a great force in our ways ahead.

 

Samsung Electronics Aims to Post W 63.6 Tln in 2006 Sales

Samsung Electronics forecasts that its sales for the year 2006 are projected to surpass 63.6 trillion won, a record figure in its corporate history.
The rosy outlooks for the Korean electronics giant are based on the projection that Samsung Electronics'mainstay products, including LCDs and handsets, will likely make a strong showing in the global market.
NAND Flash memory chips, the company'scash cow, is likely to keep going strong this year after last year's good performance and such sports extravaganzas as Torino Winter Olympics and FIFA Word Cup Germany are expected to boost sales, Samsung Electronics officials said. Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Yun Jong-yong said confidently that this year's revenues will go beyond last year's 7.64 trillion won
