The electronics giant enjoys huge reaction for its Qwerty messenger phone

LG Electronics launched the marketing activity to sell its QWERTY messenger phone (LG-VX9800) in North America in cooperation with Verizon Wireless Co., the largest CDMA producer in the United States, company officials said recently.
They said "LG VX9800"with an English QWERTY key pad has the ability to exchange instant messaging service, letter messages (SMS) and e-mail. Instant messaging facilitates the exchange of messages from mobile phone to PC and from mobile phone to mobile phone, appealing to businessmen and young people in North America, in particular.
According to U.S. Mobile Communication Internet Industry Association(CITA), cell phone owners exchanged 4.7 billion letter messages through cell phones as of December, last year, growing more than 20 times the 253 million as of 2001. "LG-VX9800"is likely to attract a great popularity in North America due to its revolutionary design and convenience in operation with North America being the region with the largest number of letter message exchanges in the world.
The latest mobile phone model is linked with Verizon's EV-DO service "V-Cast"and users can watch news, sports, TV shows, movies and others in clear pictures. It can also download 3D games and large multi-media contents, among the various functions it can perform. The new cell phone model is equipped with a mini SD memory card to store photos, and video conference files, along with other functions including a camera with camcorder function MP3 with equalizer function, wireless earphone to raise the level for customers?satisfaction.
LG Electronics had a very good reaction from its customers when it launched the sale of its "LG-VX9800" cell phone, an exclusive cell phone for Verizon's 'V-Cast' in North America for the first time in North America and it also received a very good reaction when it introduced 'LG-VX8100' also an exclusive cell phone for Verizon's 'V-Cast.'The company expects to receive a good reaction again when it brings out to the market 'LG-VX8000'for the third time this year, strengthening its position in the market as CDMA equipment maker. The electronic maker's vice president Cho Jun-ho, in charge of the North American region, said the LG-VX9800 cell phone is expected to be a big surprise to customers with its many high-tech multi-media functions. LG Electronics's Social Work

LG Electronics has launched a social work program in a number of Central and South American countries including Panama, Mexico, and Guatemala until November 30. The company's subsidiary in Panama has been drawing a warm response from people for its medical service in Panama. The company has the support of all of its local employees and medical doctors in the country lending hands in the social work and local media has been keenly watching the progress of the service. Some local residents traveled so far to get the medical service forming a line well before 9 a.m. in the morning when the daily service starts. LG's Panama subsidiary will dispatch its employees and hired medical team to the mountainous and poor regions in the central American country until the end of November to provide medical services free of charge.
The company expects to provide medical services to some 3,000 local residents during the period, especially for those people afflicted with such illnesses as cold, asthma and other diseases and later engage in work to prevent those illnesses from occurring by improving water ways, water piping systems and joint wells. LG also gave support to build a special ring for boxers in training at the Barraza Gym, which is known as the only training ring for potential boxing champions in Panama. Boxing champions include Roberto Vasquez, who won the WBA Light Fly Weight championship recently. The company also opened The Boys Home in Guatemala and started a technology training lessons with teachers selected from LG subsidiary employees. Guatemalan President Oscar Berger attended the opening ceremony of the facility, which was set up in 1997 and about 700 boys find home there. LG plans to set up the technical schools in Ecuador and Venezuela next year.
