Chinese Gathering in Seoul
For 8th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention Oct.9-12

The organizing committee of the 8th World Chinese Entrepreneurs' Convention scheduled for Oct. 6-12 in Seoul held its fourth meeting in Seoul July 8 to check on the preparation of the large meeting.
Before the meeting, the committee signed a corporate support agreement with Kangwon Land, which was followed by discussions on the progress of the convention.
Kim Jin-mo, president of Kangwon Land and Wuen Kuok Tong, chairman of the organizing committee signed the corporate sponsor agreement by which Kangwon Land delivered 100 million won Silver Sponsor certificate.
The Kangwon Land head said it signed the sponsor agreement for the reason that the gambling resort have to attract Chinese and tourists from Southeast Asian countries and all over the world for it to become an international gaming casino through a business network.
Kangwon Land plans to raise its profile in China and Southeast Asia through the sponsor agreement with WEC and hopefully attract overseas Chinese capital to the resort to make itself truly an internationally renowned gaming resort.
Kangwon Land's customers have been domestic tourists, but with the opening of a ski slope next year, it will be competitive with rivals in Southeast Asia, Macao in particular.
If a tourist package including Korean Wave programs is prepared, Kangwon Land would be unbeatable in attracting tourists from China and Southeast Asia, who will be able to enjoy a tour of casino, ski resort and film location sites. Kangwon Land will be elevated to be a tourism spot combining leisure-sports and culture.
The casino expects overseas Chinese businessmen, who are experienced with making investments in the leisure area including casino and tourism, would decide that making investment in Korean resort would pay off. Kangwon Land is sure that it would be able to forge connections with some of those overseas Chinese investors coming to the WEC taking advantage of its sponsor agreement and benefit from their investment in the casino and other resort facilities.
The organizing committee projects that around 3,000 Chinese businessmen around the world including 1,500 from China, would participate in the WEC due to promotion campaign carried out from March to June around the world.
Of special note is that a top business lobby organization, All China Federation of Industry and Commerce plans to send 80 of its members to Seoul.
Overseas Chinese businessmen from Southeast Asia including Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand will also flock to Seoul to attend the WEC in the fall.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy dispatched letters of invitations to renowned business leaders in China and Southeast Asia.
