Since its establishment in 1988 as expert engineering company in the area of information and communication, Dae-yeong Telecom Engineers Co.(DATEC) has been expanding its market shares in the areas of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), Freeway Traffic Management Systems (FTMS), general railway projects, consulting, master planning, design and inspection.
It has also been briskly advancing into foreign markets since 1989, taking charge of the establishment of communications network in Daka area of Bangladesh, projects for communications network in Sumatra area of Indonesia and the designing of telecommunications network at Manila.
Its other overseas projects include designing of Comsys telephone network in the Philippines and PSII PCCS communications line. The company has proved its strength in technology by actively making roads in foreign information and communications infrastructure facilities.
Currently, the company is putting emphasis on intelligent transportation system, highway traffic management system, and road traffic information-related areas. The Korean government has been pressing for various projects designed to establish intelligent traffic system to major cities around the nation - Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, Gwangju - and Gangwon Province.
Korea Highway Cooperation has been pushing for ultra-speed optical communications line to set up ITS and intra-net system and cope with an increasing traffic volume. Based on this, state-of-the-art traffic safety system is now available for 21 roads (2,628 km) including Gyeongbu Expressway linking Seoul and Busan.
DATEC has been in charge of 60 percent of design and inspection in the setup of the ITS and is attempting to expand its business scopes to highways and general railways.
