Kolon Engineering & Construction has been taking part in various major social overhead capital (SOC) projects including the Jukryong Tunnel built with TBM and NATM construction methods for the first time in the nation. KEC had also been selected as one of the major contractors for the new expressway to the Incheon International Airport and eighth and ninth sections of Jungang Expressway.
It is seeking to focus on developing superannuated apartment complexes while reducing the size of its own projects.
KEC took part in the SOC projects such as the fourth Circulation Road and the second Paldal Road with private capital in Daegu, as the leading company of the consortium.
KEC is also participating in the first canal project in Korea. This canal will link Han River to the west coast of Incheon.
Through these efforts, KEC shall contribute to the society with mission-oriented asset to accomplish national projects and with its great pride in improving people's lives.
With the goal of enhancing the brand image of the company, KEC has been seeking to strengthen projects for construction of new deluxe apartment complexes in Gao area in Daejeon. By using color therapy, it has been attracting huge applauds from the residents.
It is now poised to strengthen the project on a turn-key basis in the public sector while making possible efforts in the environment-friendly sector.
In 2003, it has set up the construction company Yoo-K under a joint project with Britain's leading British construction firm Yoo, led by world-renowned designer Philip Tak, as part of efforts to concentrate on deluxe buildings, high quality villas and office buildings. nw
