And POSCO received a world-wide recognition of its technology by obtaining an overseas project in Iran through an international bid in 1999, for the first time in the history of the 30 year-old local steel industry. POSCO E&C is to build a steel plant, including blast furnace, sintering facility (annual production of 2.4 million tons), auxiliary facilities (Raw material treatment and transportation system) and iron plant.
