Hyundai Development has been pursuing basic transportation installation and SOC projects to build transportation infrastructure connecting underground, surface and marine structures banking in its experience for large-scale projects.
The company's ultimate aim is to help link the national road network for better life in the country by taking on highway construction projects under project financing terms, which require a high degree of technological prowess.
With environment-friendly design, excellent construction technology, and thorough quality management, Hyundai Development acquired a competitive edge in undertaking overseas projects including a large bridge in Malaysia, showing off the construction expertise of Korean builders around the world.
At home, the company undertook major projects including the Seoul Ring Expressway, Jungbu Highway, Hobop Interchange, Danyang Dam, and Shinmaejiku Dam, among others, with a lot of weight given to civil engineering projects.

In the meantime, the company focused on research and development efforts and came up with new construction methods, investments in technologies and new high-tech material, which led the company to use its new construction techniques in building its section of the Seoul-Busan High-speed Railroad project in 1997, showing off its superb capability in precision construction and quality management.
The company built over 300,000 units of apartments in the country, including many in the Seoul area in Apgujeong-dong and Bundang, becoming the largest firm in the sector, leading the residential culture in the country. It also built some 50 buildings including an auditorium at Seoul National University Gwanak campus in 1980, gymnasiums, museums, libraries and science halls, among others, making its contribution to the future of education in the country.
