Museum's Global Exhibition

- Samsung to be sole sponsor of Nobel Museum's worldwide traveling
exhibition from 2007 to 2010

Samsung Electronics and the Nobel Museum on May 2 signed a sponsorship agreement to officially endorse Samsung's sole sponsorship of the Nobel Museum's new worldwide traveling exhibition from 2007 to 2010.
Under the terms of the agreement, Samsung will provide financial and in-kind support to the Nobel Museum for use in the production and operation of the exhibition, as well as for equipping the exhibition with the latest Samsung multimedia technologies.
With a theme based on the life of the founder of the Nobel Prize and titled "Alfred Nobel and His Times," the international exhibition will start in 2007 and end in 2010, visiting one major world capital per year at a prestigious venue.
The signing ceremony was held at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm and was attended by Nobel and Samsung officials and guests, including Mr. Michael Sohlman, Chairman of the Board of the Nobel Museum, Dr. Yung-Woo Han, senior adviser to the Novel Museum, and Professor Svante Lindqvist, Director of the Nobel Museum, as well as Hwang Sunny, Vice-President of the Corporate Communications Team at Samsung Electronics and Mr. Ui-Tack Kim, Managing Director of Samsung Electronics Nordic AB. Mr. Hwang and Professor Lindqvist signed the sponsorship agreement at the ceremony.
"We are proud of our association with the Nobel Foundation and excited at the opportunity to contribute to the development and mission of the Nobel Museum. In particular, Samsung identifies strongly with the theme of the exhibition on the life of Alfred Nobel who as an inventor, entrepreneur and industrialist exemplified the ideals of innovation, global-mindedness, and corporate social responsibility," said Mr. Hwang.
The Nobel Museum, founded in 1998 by the Nobel Foundation, is an established cultural institution?based in Stockholm which attracts a growing number of visitors to both Sweden and its international ?exhibitions abroad. The first traveling exhibition - The Nobel Centennial Exhibition "Cultures of Creativity" - was launched in 2001 in commemoration of the centennial of the Nobel Prize and has visited such prominent sites, among others, as the National Science Museum in Tokyo (2002), the Rodin Gallery in Seoul (2002, where Samsung was a local sponsor), the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry (2003), the National Science Center in Kuala Lumpur (2004), and is currently on exhibit at the New York Hall of Science until the end of May. nw
