KPS, Leader in Plant
Maintenance

- Briskly Making Inroads Into Global Markets

Korea Plant Service and Engineering (KPS) was founded in 1974 as subsidiary of the Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) in charge of maintenance services for power and industrial plants throughout Korea with a cumulative output of 58 million kW.
Anchored by CEO and President Ham Yoon-sang who took office in April 29, the company is now committed to make every effort to leap into a one of world's leading maintenance companies.
The company was set up for the purpose of offering efficient maintenance services for power facilities essential for national economy. KPS has been endeavoring to enhance the people's living standard with focus on development of technology and human resources. Additionally, it has also been laying efforts to raise the level of Korea's technology for maintenance of power facilities.
Thanks to these efforts, KPS has become the No. 1 power plant maintenance company in Korea and has begun to export maintenance technology to foreign nations. Against this backdrop, KPS was also selected as the best company in public service at the "Korea Human Resources Management Award," singled out as the "Excellent Quality Competitiveness Enterprise" for six consecutive years coupled with the "National Quality Management Award" and awarded the grand prize in labor-management relations at the "Korea Management Reform Award."
The level of Korea's maintenance technology for hydro, thermal and nuclear power plants has reached to the equal level with other advanced countries. Considering the fact that Korea has so many different types of power plants designed by other countries, current technological independence is an amazing achievement.
KPS is committed to exert more efforts in providing technical services for foreign customers, while playing a leading role in domestic maintenance industry on the basis of accumulated maintenance technology and know-how.
KPC has been polishing its name value in overseas markets continuously by successfully carrying out projects from many countries over the world.
For instance, in 1982, it began the maintenance project in overseas market with the South P/P project in Baghdad, Iraq. It paved the way for the company's continued success in projects in Guangdong, China, Philippines and Saudi Arabia.
Other projects in foreign nations include operation and maintenance of GMR diesel power plant in India, Bayswater and Eraring thermo power plant in Australia, and test operation for Termonorte thermo power plant in Brazil.
Recently, KPC also got orders for Q&M construction at Chanderiya thermo power plant in India.
KPC is now mobilizing all possible efforts to secure world-class technologies on equal footing with other leading companies in advanced nations. Toward that goal, the company has been establishing technology cooperative contracts with them with the aim of developing state-of-the-art technologies. nw
